About Stuart Sloan

Stuart Sloan

Head of School and Board Chair

The oldest of our ten children is twenty four and the youngest is four.  My wife and I recently observed that we are going to be in the education ‘business’ for at least another fifteen years.  We began home education with the birth of our first child in 2001.  Since then, the Lord has been tugging and pulling me more deeply into His calling of bringing up our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. I am so excited that He has called us to begin Franklin Christian School.

I enjoyed every part of my school education including attending the Christian high school The Masters Academy now located in Oviedo, Florida.  My academic degrees are a B.S. summa cum laude in Business Administration and a B.A. summa cum laude in History from Bryan College in Dayton, TN, and a J.D. with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida.  I practiced law from 1999 to 2009 in Orlando and Melbourne, Florida, and then moved to Franklin. Since 2010, I have practiced law in Franklin handling mostly civil matters in a general practice.  I also serve as a juvenile offender defense attorney in our local district court.

I serve on the board of Camp Living Water in Bryson City, North Carolina and have been involved in that ministry for most of my life.  Our family attends Cowee Church.  We have made our homeplace here in Macon County a small hobby farm with chickens, sheep, a fishpond, a pig, a goat and fruit orchards, and I enjoy any sport involving water.
