Erin’s love of sports began at a young age while playing soccer, basketball, baseball, track, and football before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17.
During his 20-year military career, Erin served as an EOD Technician and Officer (bomb squad), retiring as a Captain in 2016 following multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. After living in various parts of the country throughout his military service, Erin and his wife, Karen, chose to make Franklin home in 2017. Together they are raising three teenage sons and a young daughter.
Erin serves as a leader with Wild Ops veterans’ ministry and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, working on projects around their property, and serving the community with Cowee Church.
His years of leading Marines taught him the importance of teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and mastering what he calls “brilliance in the basics.” Through his sons’ involvement in soccer, Erin developed a deep appreciation for the sport and has spent the past decade supporting youth soccer programs as a volunteer, assistant, and stand-in coach when needed.
