NON-PROFIT and NON-DENOMINATIONAL

Franklin Christian School (FCS) is a non-profit 501(3)(c) corporation (applied for). FCS is tax-exempt (applied for) and operates as a non-denominational institution for Christian education and ministry serving the community of Macon County in Western North Carolina.

Mission

The exclusive purpose of Franklin Christian High School, Inc. is to start and operate a private Christian high school. Through the disciplines of academics, athletics, arts and associations (community) FCS promotes the discovery and encouragement of the God-given callings of each student. By such disciplines and the growth and development of each student’s intellect, Biblical knowledge, gifts, leadership skills, character, and self discipline it is the mission of FCS that God will be glorified, disciples of Christ are made, and His kingdom will come.

Vision

FCS desires the following for each of their students:
a. That every student trusts the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her personal savior, saving him or her from the eternal penalty of sin, confessing that Jesus is Lord and the Son of the one true God; believing that God raised Him from the dead; and receiving eternal life. Romans 3:23; 6:23; 10:9, John 1.
b. That every student is taught the Truth of God’s Word and His created world that he or she may desire the Truth, may know the Truth and may live with the Truth forever. John 1:1; John 14:6; John 17.
c. That every student is a witness in Macon County to his or her peers, witnessing and testifying to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8.
d. That every student graduates as an adult who will prosper in any society of this world. While standing firm in their faith and using their intellect, leadership, character, gifts, community and body, they will serve the body of Christ and be a light to the world. Ephesians 6:13.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration by the one true God of both the Old and New Testaments. The original Scriptures are infallible and inerrant, and are our final and absolute authority in every area of life and knowledge. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).

We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Matt. 1:19-25, 2 Cor 5:21, 1 John 3:5, Mark 1:23-26, John ll:38-44, Luke 9:10-17, Rom. 3:24-25, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Peter 3:18, Matt. 27:38, Luke 24:1-51, Acts 15:16

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. Daniel 12:2, Hebrews 5:9, John 3:15, Matthew 25:41, Matthew 25:46

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4, Jeremiah 10:10, Matthew 3:16-17, John 10:30, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Matthew 28:19

We believe that Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and that through faith in Him as Lord and Savior, we are declared righteous by God. (II Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 7:24- 27) Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, with human merit and individual effort having no bearing or efficacy, and that the experience of regeneration produces a new creature in Christ indwelt by the Holy Spirit. (II Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:16-17) All believers are under the mandate of Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel to all the world. (Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 5:16).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:11-16, Hebrews 2:11, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

We believe that God has ordained the family as the foundation of human society and government. It is composed of persons relating to one another through marriage, birth, lineal ancestry, or legal adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one biologically genetic man and one biologically genetic woman in a covenant commitment for life. The husband and wife’s relationship displays the redemption of the church to God through Christ and this family unit is God’s design for procreation, life and growth. From the moment of conception, children are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are responsible for teaching their children spiritual and moral values, and to lead them well through loving discipline and God’s Word. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joshua 24:15; 1 Samuel 1:26-28; Psalms 51:5; 78:1-8; 127; 128; 139:13-16; Proverbs 1:8; 5:15-20; 6:20-22; 12:4; 13:24; 14:1; 17:6; 18:22; 22:6,15; 23:13-14; 24:3; 29:15,17; 31:10-31; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; 9:9; Malachi 2:14-16; Matthew 5:31-32; 18:2-5; 19:3-9; Mark 10:6-12; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Ephesians 5:21-33; 6:1-4; Colossians 3:18-21; 1 Timothy 5:8,14; Titus 2:3-5; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Peter 3:1-7.)

Parents through the institution of the family have the primary responsibility for the education of children and are commanded to bring up their children in the instruction and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4. Institutional education outside of the family relationship and home is a social, governmental and cultural construct and not a Biblical mandate, but exists to support and assist the parental mandate and the Biblical institutions of family and the church.

The school welcomes students of all Christian denominations that support the school’s statement of faith. Support from all willing local churches of any Christian denomination in our community is welcome and necessary. On matters of spiritual authority, doctrine and the practice of worship, the local church of a particular student is the final authority. However, students will be expected to participate in a robust examination and inquiry of Christian doctrines and practices with the Bible as the authoritative primary source.

We believe that the unique roles of the male and female are clearly defined in Scripture and in science. God is not pleased with and will judge a sexual lifestyle that is not expressed within a lifelong marriage between a biological male and a biological female (Romans 1:24-32; 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9-20; Ephesians 5:3-5; 1 Thess. 4:3-8; 1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:19-22; Hebrews 13:4, 1 Peter 1:15-16, 2:15-17; 1 John 3:1-3). Further, we support the Biblical definition of marriage as stated in the Bible (Genesis 1:27-28; Genesis 2: 22-24; Ephesians 5:22-23; I Corinthians 7:16; Matthew 19:4-6). We believe gender and sex are immutable, biological characteristics determined by God at creation and conception.Genesis 1:27-28, Matthew 19:4, Mark 10:6, Psalm 139:13-18.

Litchfield Christian School has been such a beautiful blessing to our family. LCS is a Christ-centered school that challenges students academically, nurtures their creativity, promotes a positive learning environment, and contributes to their spiritual growth. LCS is very supportive, and they encourage their students and their families. Our daughter came into LCS completely broken and empty. Public school had taken a drastic toll on her mental health. She had pleaded with us for over a year to homeschool her. We were at a loss. Our daughter is a very social person, and we knew she needed more. We decided to check out LCS as an alternative. From the very moment we stepped inside LCS, we could see and feel the genuine love. EVERYONE felt as if they belonged. Before our day of observing was over, she had asked if she could please come to LCS. She was smiling and said this place is my kind of place. It's definitely been just that!

Today she is thriving, and she is truly enjoying herself. She loves to go to school, and she loves all of the teachers. She has made good friends and is blossoming in all areas of life. She's even started singing on stage during chapel. This has been the best decision we could have ever made as parents for our daughter. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity in our hometown, and we truly appreciate that LCS offers grades K-12. How blessed we are to be a part of Litchfield Christian School. We look forward to many more amazing years here.
